Yorkville TX9's - settings?
« on: April 04, 2011, 01:58:43 PM »

I have a pair of Yorkville TX9's coming my way later this week.
Does anyone have any suggested settings?
Looking for crossover and limiter settings.

I am not going to buy the TX series processor as I am not using the TX series top cabinets.
I looked at the processor in someone elses system and it appears it senses the output voltage of the amplifier powering the cabinets.
Similar to a peak voltage limiter in the Crown Itech I am guessing.
I will be using Peavey QW3f cabs for tops.

Any suggestion are appreciated!
Thanks,

Vinny

Vinny

I used to have a boatload of these (24).   They are a very good box.  I just hated the non-truck pack dimensions, and the tilt back design.

First I suggest you make sure you have some serious power, like 2000-3000 watts per box to get all you desire from these.

Cross them over at no higher than 90 hz, but hpf them at about 30 hz.

What are you using for power and crossover?

Let me know if you need more info.

These are a great box but need alot of power, as Joel said.  Yorkville use to have a spec sheet on their web site which had omni-drive settings for the Tx8/Tx9 system.  That might be a good place to start.  You can also dig through thier processor manuals and find the x-over points those use.
