Blue screens put out lots of UV

(1/2) > >>

John Lackner:
Blue computer screens can put out a lot of UV light, which can be fatiguing to the eyes. Maybe change the theme color to some thing amber or yellow-ish? Just a suggestion.

While there can be a lot of light in the blue spectrum, and it can have some effect on eye strain, "a lot of UV light" from monitors  seems VERY unlikely.
The skin care industry is trying to float the idea that computer screen face time is causing pre mature ageing of the skin. I wonder if they have a solution to sell for that "problem"? ::)

UV is shorter wavelength and higher energy than visible blue light, if there was a lot of it released by accident, it would be a health hazard. Unlikely that this would be missed by regulators.

Blue (violet) is shorter wavelength than the other light colors so higher energy content. This shorter wavelength light is associated with our sunlight alerting mechanism that helps wake us up in the morning.

Keith Broughton:
As far as suggestions, there are some devices that have an setting for evening or night use that reduces the colour temperature, thereby reducing blue light energy.
The concept is that blue light disrupts sleep so using a screen before bed can be problematic.
Also, you can go into the video driver software and reduce the colour temperature to decrease blue light.

Yep, and 5G kills and the earth is flat.
