Yes! Sleeping on a bus is the absolute best! I strive to get sleep like that nowadays.

Reminds me though, I’ve never slept as well as when travelling on a bus. Just puts me right out. And the bus shutting off is like an alarm clock.

I hated trying to sleep on the bus. Could never get comfortable and routinely never slept the first night we would be on an over night jump. I wouldn't be able to sleep until the second night, when I had done two full load ins and shows with a sleepless night between them, and that just out of sheer exhaustion.

As soon as the bus pulled into the hotel parking lot I was usually the first one off the bus and into the hotel to sleep in a real bed.

Top front drivers. I usually sleep pretty good until we stop.
But my folks told me they used to drive me around in the car to get me to sleep when I was a newborn.

And if those lady chefs are friendly with the barber next door and you notice meat pies on the menu... it could be your final thrill.  From monitor mixer to ingredient from one late night bio-break.

I would have lost my tiny little mind if the place was on Fleet Street!   ;)

...and here's another one: https://www.prosoundweb.com/road-stories-adventures-with-wireless-live-at-the-el-mocambo-tavern/

Keep those stories coming Ike. Always enjoy them.

I've never been in the El Mocambo but I did rehearse above it with a band while the CN Tower was going up. The problem with being busy in this industry is that you never get to see bands perform.

Even when you're there working. :(

Running foh at a club in Michigan for la guns, drunk guy sticks his head in the mid range cab next to the stage, passes out, and by the time security got to him through the crowd he had thrown up in the cabinet. Very disgusting.

So that would have been early-to-mid 70's yes? What band was it?
