Soundcraft Ui16 power up mode
« on: August 11, 2020, 09:32:32 PM »

I am new to the digital mixer world and am looking at a Soundcraft Ui16 for our church. I am wondering how the mixer handles powering off and back on. Does it come up with the last settings or is everything at some startup point. There won't always be someone who knows how to setup the mixer at the services so it needs to remember the last setup, or at least one that will work with minimal changes.

Yes it will power up with settings as they were when turned off.
Pre sets/scenes can be saved for different events and services and recalled as needed.

As with most small digital box mixers the built in wifi is not all that great, you should plan on setting it up with an external wifi router and turning off the internal wifi.

Thanks Mike, That make me feel better about using it. We already have wifi there since we have been livestreaming our services so we will keep that in mind.

I suggest that your sound system controls be a separate network that has a unique SSID, is secured using WPA2, and have a wired backup.

When doing setups for installations with the Ui series, I save a couple of snapshots with names that should be plainly understood by anyone accessing the GUI.  Then, in case anything does get messed up, the snapshot can quickly be pulled from the dropdown menu.

Let me to that with a hidden SSID.
