Ends with a statement from one of the commissioners saying it's a bad idea, but they're stuck doing it so far.
FCC has no choice but to follow through as if the auction will occur. It's up to Congress to repeal those sections of Title VI of the MIDDLE CLASS TAX RELIEF AND JOB
CREATION ACT OF 2012 that mandate the auction. No one at the FCC or the GAO believes it will be successful or that there's sufficient and appropriate spectrum for to which public safety can move. Congress will likely act on the eve of the scheduled auction.
It's a potential mess, and certainly a waste of regulators' time and energy.
