Basic Meyer Software Questions
« on: June 09, 2020, 04:59:14 PM »

With the Meyer Compass Software, do you have to be connected to actual equipment to do anything?   If I show the Galileo tab, add a processor, I can see the grayed out settings, but even in "virtual" mode they are grayed out. Likewise with the CAL tab...all grayed out controls.

You do not need to be connected to any physical hardware.
Under the "devices" tab, click on the "use virtual" button of the device you have added that you wish to program. It should show "connected" after a short pause. Then you are set to start programming.

Hi John,
Thanks for the reply.  When i click "Use Virtual" it says ERROR in that block, and the Connecting and Status field just say "connecting".  Weird.

Hmmm. I just tried it again on Compass. Deleted all the virtual Galileo devices already there, added one and connected and disconnected a few times with the "use virtual " button.
It has been a while since I used this software regularly, but I don't remember any problems using the offline editor.
Sorry I can't point to the problem.

Do you need to be logged in? I know in MAPP that is a thing.

Measure twice, and cut once; this is especially important if you are a mohel.

Hi John,
Deleting all the Galileo devices already there, then adding one back in seems to have done the trick.  Weird, but thanks again.
