I know way more sound guys who ARE bass players, than married to them.
I myself personally am a Bass Guitar Owner (TM) and have been pretty much the whole time I've been in this business. I seldom play...
A few years ago I hosted a panel for the Toronto AES chapter on the state of studio maintenance around town. My last question for the panel was:
"So, what kind of bass guitar do you own?" :P

Hey Tim, that's not a jab at our lovely Mrs. Dunkley, is it? ;D
Chris.

Mr D got a lifetime supply of 1/4" cables and a capable soundperson.  She got a bass player.  Who came out ahead?  :-X

That's why I said "soundpersons".   ;)\

Trying to stay gender-neutral.

I'm pretty active as a bass player.   I expect to be again.  Did 60+ gigs on top of sound dates last year.  That was down from the previous years...  I play in a variety band.  Deep book as we have been together 10 years.

The EQ is there to restore body lost, or to add body when necessary to synth or distortion patches. I like a little mild grind now and again.  It also makes up for basic tonal differences between my active 5 string and passive 4.

With the on-board limiter ahead of the synth and tuner.  It replaced my old EQ1, poly tun mini and stop compressor.  My old Eq 1 itself replaced a very gucci HPF/LPF pedal.

My pedals live in the efx loop of a Radial Bassbone.  All are midi capable and I use a stomp controller to trigger patches.  I've been a fan of a source Audio a long time.  Putting a stereo parametric 10 band eq in a pedal is remarkable even for them.
