Hi, With a lot of spare time recently I have been going through all the racks that are stored and in some cases not used often. One is an outboard for the Midas Verona set up and contains 4 of the KT Square one graphics. These were bought a few years back on the strength of the rave reviews about their quality and build......Their first major outing was at the IOW festival where 2 of the 4 failed, at the time we thought it was due to a generator issue giving over voltage (nothing else got affected) the problem was they kept powering off then back on again and eventually just stayed off. They were sent back to KT for repair and returned working with no full explanation but a reference to the PSU and a £250.00 bill!
The units have not really had much use with the arrival of digital but I decided that they would benefit from a power cycle. All went well and the 4 units powered up then I noticed one had gone off after an hour and would not power back up, after 4 hours a second unit failed but this time if you switched it off for 5 minutes then back on it would work for 15 minutes and switch off. I timed it 6 times and it was the same. I opened up the units and there is no sign of burn or blown fuses (one at the plug inlet and one inside) all clean and no rust etc just like new! Now the big news at the time with these units was their universal power supply and I'm wondering if there is a component problem in that section, so apologies for the long explanation and now to get to the point ..has anybody experienced these units and had the same problem or have a possible theory I can explore further. Thanks
