CL 5 can mix 88 input channels, 72 mono and 8 stereo. You do need to add input ports via an MY card of some sort to get them all in.

It IS easy to forget the stereo channels on that thing.

Not so much once you've done it a couple of times. 88 in the music console and 40 something in the production console.

If that's true, then it is not as exciting as it seems  . I do still hope is the CL line replacement.

No reason they couldn't also be introducing smaller/cheaper DSP boxes to go with smaller/cheaper control surfaces.

At Rivage training i discussed the need for higher channel count with one of the Y's guys and a R20 was a possible solution.
What we need is not a smaller 3 box system but a 96k less modular 2 box...utilizing D2's and boutique pres like Rupert Neve digital. Resident Dante w/SRC.They have the PM10CS..use it as a base for the smaller 2 box
.
As Y J has shown respect for Japanese Numerology i would expect a CL7 as a possible upgrade name

That looks interesting. Not a baby PM7, but a smaller PM10, requiring the external DSP. Also new DSP engines with both fewer and more channels, and the long expected Eventide 2016 FX engine, and control of L'Acoustic I-LSA immersive sound systems.

I like them. The PM3 looks like a viable upgrade from the CL5. Love the L-ISA integration.
