I know of Practical Show Tech, is this the same or different YouTube?

Thanks for the thread bump, Chris.  :)

Yup, still running.  NO plans to stop any time soon. Having too much fun!

Show title is now "The Audio Opinion Show". We stream live on YouTube twice a week; Tuesdays at 1p EDT and Thursdays at 8p EDT.

Here's a link to my channel to see past shows. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC64dlcpfld8SVt_zjGDMxIQ?

It's a Zoom event. No need for a Zoom account or anything to participate. I email out a registration link during the day before the show.

There's a virtual "waiting room" that opens an hour before show time. I "open doors" at 30 minutes before show and close them at 5 minutes before so we can get settled in for the show. [All of this is mostly done to prevent zoom bombers from ruining all the fun]

I love having active participants on the panel, but I'm also starting to get a few people who join us and just hang out in the chat rather than having to be on video/audio and that's fine with me too.

If this sounds like fun to you, please just send me a note [my email is in my sig] and I'd be happy to add you to the list. The more the merrier!

Thanks

As much as I'd love to be associated with Practical Show Tech, I am not. But anyone that hasn't gone to PST and checked out the amazing amount of training resources there already, then GO THERE RIGHT NOW!

You can find my show on my YouTube channel Brian Maddox Talks

Always happy to get subscriptions and suggestions for more and better content, so please feel free to share!

Chris Grimshaw:
Cool, thanks for the links. You should have an email.
Wish I'd found this thread earlier - I have some thoughts on SM58s* and snare bottom mics** :)

* e935s are better in every way except widespread use
** Need time alignment to work properly - inverting polarity is a band-aid.
