Route a matrix to card out?
« on: March 17, 2020, 02:47:30 PM »

We are looking to feed a livestream mix to a laptop.  I have a matrix set up with the main l/r being sent to it, as well as a mix bus to boost things for the livestream that aren't up in the house.  I've had people tell me I can just send the feed to the computer via the USB out on the X32, rather than having to buy a separate USB interface.  I'm just not sure how I route that - there's no matrixes on the card out routing page so I'm not sure how to get it to do what we're wanting.  Am I missing something or is it not possible?

Their routing scheme is a bit confusing.

The bus outs (matrix) are found on the OUTPUT 1-16 tab.
The USB card is found on the CARD OUTPUT tab.

The CARD OUTPUT devices are mirrors what you do on the OUTPUT 1-16 tab.

So on OUTPUT you route matrix to 1-6 for example, then on CARD tab you route 1-6 to the CARD.

I believe that's how it works.

Essentially true.  You can route things in groups of 8 to the 32 "card" outputs [USB].  So you can route your "Outputs" 1- 8 to say Card out 1-8 and the USB will mirror your outputs.  If you want something other than a mirror you can route your Ultranet outputs to the card outputs and then assign any combination of inputs or mixbusses to Ultranet.
