DMX Rack Panel Feedthru (solderless)
« on: March 03, 2020, 08:56:50 AM »

Hello all,

I am looking for a solderless rack feedthru for DMX, similar to Neutrik's NA3FDM where it is female to male or male to female and no solder points.

Has anyone encountered a manufacturer that makes such a thing?

I have found Neutrik's NC5FDM3-H-PCB-RJ45 which could accomplish what I'm looking for by using a RJ45 to DMX cable, but is not ideal.

Thank you all!

So.. why not use the NA3FDM? Or do you need 5-pin?

If screw terminals will work I've seen both the 3 pin and 5 pin versions with terminals instead of solder cups.  Why the need for solderless?  If done right a soldered connection will be superior to a pass-through.  Hope this helps!

Rack is designed to be somewhat 'modular' so I'm trying to make it easier to add/remove panels without pulling out a lump of cable tails with it. I am still interested in the screw terminal 5-pin though, happen to have a link?

Yep, here you go!  (Link)

They come in a few different flavors and definitely aren't cheap, but if this is what you want it should do the job.  Good luck!
