Starting to do more corporate work, wondering if anyone cared to share what tools they use the most in the corporate side of audio?
All i do is corporate audio and i nearly always fly. So i pack as light as possible. Here's thing i value enough to bring.
My own Comms headset with Adapters for RTS or Clearcom
Headphones
RF Analyzer
QBox
Dongles/adapters for everything! I bring a ridiculous number of these an still often don't have what is needed.
2-3 Spare drop switches [5 to 8 port].
Lots of short CAT5 cable. I've had good success with Monoprice cables which are VERY thin and lightweight.
USB hub or two
2 StreamDecks for Qlab triggering and other things
At least 2 computers. I have an asortment of MB Pros, Airs, and Mac minis and i bring whatever the gig requires
Laptop stand
At least 2 iPads
A few XLR turns and IL19s and such.
A small screwdriver with bits built in to the handle
Leathermen
Spare chargers for Iphone, etc.
Laser measure thingy
That's mostly it. I don't bring a cable tester. I don't have the luxury of testing every cable before it's deployed, and if i find it's bad after it's deployed i don't need the cable tester to tell me that either. I also don't bring an audio interface as i am ALWAYS using Dante and i use DVS for everything. Otherwise i use whatever PCDI things that the gear provider has on the show.
i do about 60 percent A1, 20 Percent A2 and 20 percent RF/Comms tech currently. Although the first and third seem to be crowding out the second of late.
