Seeking paid help with simple QLC+ LEDbars setup
« on: February 15, 2020, 12:22:07 PM »

I am looking for someone to create a basic QLC+ showfile for the below set up and spend a little time on phone walking me through using it/modifying it.

Hardware :
6 LED Strips (direct DMX controlled) of 50 RGB LEDS each (150 channels each)
... https://www.environmentallights.com/16033-rgb-pixeldmx-reel-32.html
3 strips per universe
2 universes
Mac OSX Catalina

Control:
Would like to use QLC+ to trigger some simple animations/sequences via received MIDI coming from VDMX running on same Mac computer
(there will be Art-Net and TouchOSC available so those protocol are options if simpler or easier).

Timing...Project needed by ..yesterday! (of course), so rapid turnaround needed.

Willing to pay a fair price for your time, but not quite sure how much time such a project should even take.
PM me here if you if interested!

Thanks!

Where are you reading that these have 150 channels each?

My guess is that these use a controller box at the end of the strip and therefore use 3 DMX channels per node to control each of the 3 colors. So 50 nodes times 3 colors equals 150 channels.  I only know this because that’s how the diy Christmas light “smart” strings work!

3 strips per universe

The documents say this:
"160 RGB LEDs (or 80 pixels) per reel. Maximum of 170 addressable pixels per DMX universe."

so it looks like it may be two strips per universe?

3 times 150 is 450 used channels per universe. Since a universe is only 512 channels, it would require 2 universes.

Why do you need so much control over the LED strips?  Seems to be overkill?  MHO

How and where are the strips going to be deployed?  May want to use some RGB Matrix to control the strips, but 150 channels?

Pixel mapping by controlling each LED will allow users to display video and motion GFX, generally using sACN or ArtNET, essentially a very low resolution LED screen. . .
