We went from an A&H analog board (GL3800) to a QU-32 about 3 1/2 years ago.  The person running it weekly didn't have alot of experience-and still doesn't do much other than mix with the faders-but the transition was really smooth.

The fixed channel assignments can be limiting-but they also simplify setup and operation for beginners.

For our normal services, where week to week channel assignments are the same, I don't mind not having scribble strips.  When we do a theatrical production I am wanting them very badly-hoping to step up to an SQ this year for that reason.

The 5 groups are:
1 pulpit mic
2 lapels
3 vocal handhelds
4 choir mics
5 musical instruments

The aux sends are:
1 lapels/pulpit (to video)
2 vocal hanheldes  (to video)
3 musical instruments  (to video)
4 stage monitor #1 (singers)
5 stage monitor #2 (band)
6 sub woofers
7 hearing assist

Is the range of wireless IEM on par with typical wireless mics? 100 to 300 ft?

The QU32 has four stereo sub groups and four DCA groups, sub groups allow for full processing at the sub groups of all the channels assigned to that group, same thing as if you had an insert EQ or compressor on the HP8.

DCA groups just control the assigned channels level and muting, no group outputs or processing.

Curious as to the three auxes that are all sent to video, are they sub mixing those in the video booth for the broadcast or streaming feed.

Yes on the IEM with proper antennas and set up. How many channels of wireless IEM would you use.

The new Midas personal monitors that work with the Wing look awesome.  I would put a Wing in your search criteria.

In addition to that, if you use wireless IEM's then the HUB-4 allows the DP-48's to be on stage with no extra cabling required to get the mix back to the IEM transmitters, both the DP-48's and the IEM transmitters hook up to the HUB4, with the HUB4 having 4 x 2 sets of stereo audio outputs (mix a and b for each DP48) specifically for this purpose. Neat eh?

Honestly looking at what you have told use about your current setup there is no way I would recommend the QU32. Get an X32.

Looking at he back of the Qu-32 it has 24 analog outputs and the SQ-7 has 18?

The analog outputs of the Qu-32 seem to more closely match the Crest HP-8 32, what am I missing here?

The groups and the stereo auxes are exactly that, stereo. That means that if you need only mono outputs, which you do, then you have significantly less outputs available.

You have 7 auxiliaries, not 10. Same with the group's, there are 4 that can be used not 8. You cannot repatch these things to be two mono mixes unless you want identical mixes which is pointless.
