Hats off to Shure Canada
« on: January 16, 2020, 11:38:54 AM »

I bought a pair of Shure SHR1540 headphones last summer and have them on pretty much the entire time I'm in my office. One of the foam pads that is on the band came off and the other was loose. Not a big deal but these cans weren't cheap. I wanted to treat myself to something nice for a change.

I contacted Shure Canada, they sent me an RMA and I sent them back. They immediately sent me a brand new boxed set. Very impressed. No hoops to jump through.

First time I've had to return anything to Shure. I've ordered and used a lot of their product over the years including over 2 dozen pro wireless systems. I used to have a box full of broken mics. None of them were Shure.

BTW, these cans sound amazing. Listening to Vivaldi concertos as I write. Violins sound so sweet.

Shure service is great here in the USA.  Reasonable prices after the warranty ends, and fairly quick turnaround.

Too many other companies think that a month or two is acceptable.  Shure is more like 1-2 weeks.

If only Sennheiser would adopt the Shure model.

last century I had a pile of N/D308 and 408 in my drum package.
2 of the 408's died over a period of 2 months, so I made a phone call.
They asked me to send all 5 of my 408's back, and they'd have a look-see.
Keep in mind, I bought them all used..... and I had them for 5 or 6 years by then.

10 days later, FedEx shows up with 2 "cleaned up", and 3 brand new 408's.
No bill. Just a thank-you note for using EV products.
Next day, I went to my supplier, and bought an RE-20 for my collection.

There is exceptional customer service out there, and in my businesss I work to maintain that standard.

Yep. We had some wireless kits that came in with the wrong rack ears. Sent a couple pictures to their support people, they had the correct ears in the mail to us same day. And now we have two pairs of SLX rack ears if anyone needs them  ;D

I think that many companies should follow the Shure service model.

1st, one can actually call and speak to a person that is familiar with their company's product line.
2nd, the repair form has clear instructions on how to get a product repaired.
3rd, the repair rates are flat rate and advertised. The consumer knows exactly how much the costs are.
4th, many times Shure replaces an item rather than repairing it.
5th, the repair turn around time is quick.

Hopefully Shure will be around and run the same way for another 95 years. They are almost the last man standing.

Not just the service model. It looks like they also think that if you build it better, there will be less need for repairs. That's from my experience. YMMV

There are still some other companies that are like this, but they are getting more scarce for sure!
Yamaha
Meyer
L'Acoustics
Allen & Heath

To name a few...
