Hi, this may have been asked before and if so my apologies.

Just want a "pros" quick review on the pros and cons of these two powered subs.

I am currently in the process of acquiring a JBL system myself, and thus have listened to the PRX818XLF. I've done in a few different indoor locations, one with particularly unideal conditions and a pro audio shop with fairly optimized listening conditions. Every single time I've heard it, albeit only a single unit, I have been very disappointed with how quickly it reaches limiter. The quality of the bass is fine enough, but the actual amount of output was very disappointing from a single box given the price. I am used to feeling it from my sub arrays, having done quite a few large conventions with anywhere between 1,000 to 3,000 people in main events at one time. Now, if you don't mind your sub merely being an extension of your tops instead of having a presence of their own, you may be less disappointed than I was.

Another sub I have heard was the SRX828SP. I know that you are looking at the single 18" so output won't be quite as high, but I will say the quality of bass from that box was phenomenal. The particular Banjo Center I was in when I heard it was audibly shaking, from the opposite side of the building, well before I hit the limiter. In fact, I didn't once hit the limiter before I wanted to turn it down so as not to cause issues to other people, it was *that* powerful. It has immense output and it is by far the cleanest sub I've personally ever heard. Thus, I've no doubt the single 18" will be just as clean and pleasing to listen to.

These thoughts are completely my own though, and you must listen to them yourself to make your own decision.
