Recommandations for a tiny bluetooth audio board
« on: January 07, 2020, 05:13:20 AM »

Hi,

I'm looking for recommandations for a small bluetooth audio board with great sound quality.
I've already tried M38 board, but the sound quality isn't that good.

The audio output is a small mono speaker 3W, 8 Ohms.

Do you have any idea ?

Bluetooth and great audio quality don't mix.  Which one do you want, and then we can help some.

Bullwinkle: This is the amplifier, which amplifies the sound. This is the Preamplifier which, of course, amplifies the pree's.

Yep.  Even in my car streaming Spotify from my iPhone, Bluetooth sounds worse than USB.  As the source gets better, the difference should increase.

It's worth mentioning that there are several different Bluetooth audio codecs. There's a poor-quality codec that's supported by all devices and acts as a lowest-common-denominator, but beyond that almost all devices only support a small handful of the possible codecs.

There are some reasonably high quality (and even low-latency) codecs available over Bluetooth, but both the transmitter and the receiver have to support one of them (the same one, that is) or you'll be stuck with poor audio.
