Aww man! We are loosing all the cosmic cowboys it seems.

Jerry Jeff shows could go on forever somtimes. He would play his first set, about 45 minutes, then the band would do 2-3 songs without him while he toked up a little devil's lettuce. Then depending on how much or how strong it was, he might play non-freaking-stop for another 2 hours +. No set list, no plan, he would just kick off a new song as the last song was ending.

The crazy thing was the band had this worried look in their eyes as the need to pee grew more urgent the longer the set went on! lol.

I saw Jerry Jeff several times when I was in college in Austin TX \m/. He would often pop in unannounced at small bars and sit in with whatever band happen to be playing that night, play a few songs then hang out with the crowd.

Singer/Songwriter Billy Joe Shaver has died of a stroke at 81.
Hands down, Billy Joe Shaver was one of the best country song writers that has ever lived, sad to hear the real life "Honky Tonk Hero" has passed.

First mixed sound for him 40 years ago, and then again 8 years ago.
He kept writing great songs and delivering them till the end.

Will always remember those shows, his songs and a photo he posed for with me, "hands down".
