Terry Jones exits Monty Python at age 77.  Dementia.  The Flying Circus is getting smaller.

Yes it is......Talented man for sure as all the Python crew are/were. RIP Mr. Jones.

Guitarist Andy Gill, co-founder and last remaining original member of the British band Gang of Four, died Saturday, February 1, 2020.

His humor, screaming Stratocaster riffs and the hearing lost on the GO4 tours in the early 1980s will be missed forever.

We've lost Lyle Mays of the Pat Metheney band. Amazing musician. Now, I have to look up Pat Metheny band videos.

A friend texted me about this shocker.  Lyle was a bandmate at UWEC in the early 70's, before he moved on to North Texas State.  He had an amazing gift.  I've had the honor of working with a lot of really great musicians, but Lyle was in a class by himself.  A true musical genius.

If you're searching for videos, watch the Jaco Pastorius documentary.  There's footage of Jaco, Pat and Lyle playing with Joni Mitchell but, more fun, "b roll" of Lyle playing frisbee during the closing credits.

RIP Lyle.

Yes, this is a great loss, as was, and still is, the loss of Jaco :(

From Facebook

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Brian Hendry, the band’s monitor engineer for many tours. Brian was a long time member of Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker’s world class road crew. And a secret weapon for achieving the sound for the legendary live performances we all so enjoyed.

Tom loved and treasured Brian a great deal personally and he will be sorely missed by the entire Heartbreakers family. Our deepest condolences to his wife Jann and his daughters JJ, Jamie & Josie. Brian was a great man.
