Novice here. MHz question please
« on: October 15, 2019, 06:57:00 pm »

I apologize in advance if this has been asked before.

I run a very small operation and rarely use wireless mics, however, a few times a year I do religious and speaking engagements which require wireless. I have a few items that I use: an old Sennheiser handheld from about 2003 (seriously) and a few Shure PRX wireless units for headset mics.

None of these are in the 600 MHz range. The Shures are in the 500 range and the Sennheiser is in the 700 range.

Am I cool to continue using these or do I need to consider buying some new units?

Thanks so much.

700 MHz has been illegal for wireless microphone use in the US and Canada for several years now. 500 MHz units are still legal, and if they do what you need them to then they're probably fine.

Thank you Russ. I'll disconnected use of the Sennie. It's lasted me a good long while.
