Amp with High and Low Pass for Danley THMini
« on: September 22, 2019, 03:39:57 PM »

I'm interested in downsizing / simplifying a bit to make my humble rig a little more efficient.  QU is the mixer now so unlike previously it can cover the needs when I don't take the Mini out.
Are there are recommendations for good 'one box solutions to pair with the THMini? Or also perhaps two non-powered  EV ZX-3s if that's not too much of a jump?

I want to add I guess I could perhaps sell the EV ZX-3s and pick up a second Yamaha DSR12 (..one was purchased for our smaller 'easy setup gigs) But would I be correct to presume that would be a sideways move?
Thanks
Wayne

Are you asking for a DSP amp to power/process speakers and sub?
Or a speaker that is full range for gigs that don't need a sub?

Powersoft T series are great for inexpensive but not 'cheap' DSP amps, Danley DNA amps for larger systems.
Danley SM100F is a great little speaker that doesn't need a sub.

I see where I could have been clearer. 'One amplifier solution'.
Thanks

Would a PLD4.5 do the job?

That was the one line I was aware of, seems to have the needed feature set, costs are reasonable. I like that you can run a bridged and dual mono pairs. (Didn't look real deeply into them but didn't see those options on the Powersoft.
The THMini is rated 700w and EVs 600w continuous. I'm not sure if the PLD 4.3 be a good fit these speakers, or perhaps go for the extra headroom. I don't expect to ever push this rig to their max BTW.

edit to add the helpful links.. :>)

Powersoft T-series would be my go-to for this. Bit more power than the QSC PLDs, and 1U instead of 2.

Headroom is your friend, especially with subs...you can always turn it down, but can't turn it up if you need more than you have. Also, buying the 4.5 would theoretically let you run a second THMini plus the EV tops all on the single amp if you so chose down the road.
