AKG C451B Mic clip options
« on: September 22, 2019, 01:53:50 PM »

Got a great deal on a pair of matched C451B, but without clips.

What's a decent quality mic clip for these that isn't the $22 AKG wants for the original? Something rubbery but holds them nice and firm.

Thanks!

Beyer make a range of flexible mike clips that work well for the SDCs. And they are very tough!

The best mic clips I have found are also the least expensive. They are K&M and there are four sizes. They retail for around $5
This model fits my Crown CM700 and Sennheiser e609. 17-21mm diameter

This model fits my Crown CM700...
Good to know!

As an aside: have you used those mics for choirs? They’re my personal favorite...I always get more GBF with them.

The Windtech MC-12 fits them well.
Looks like a clone of the original!
How's the quality of that clip?

Not sure if that question is for me?
I typically use those little tiny ones that hang from a wire. All the manufacturers make them...

It's a hard rubber clip mounted to a hard plastic base with metal threaded 5/8" insert. Mine have held up quite well over the years.
