Anyone have a suggestion as to Model of Zone Controller to use with similar functions to the Range HAL?.. Ease of end user use is critical ..Simpler the better : ) understood that programming is a different story LOL....

What functions are you looking for?  Preset recall, volume adjust, other?

Easiest to me is a well programmed GUI on a touch screen.  QSys, Xilica, Tesira, et al all have options.

Curious, Why can't you just use a HAL?
-Something you don't like about it?
-the price?
-just not working for your clients needs?

What sort of input / output scale do you need?

For a thin-budget, small-channel-count system, check out the Denon Pro MX508.  I've interacted with it in a client's space recently, and the feature set and web interface are convenient.

That said, my first interaction with it was to repair a damaged power supply, so I can't vouch for reliability ;-)
