Did they pull v4 off the website already?  As of this moment I do not see it for either the X32 or for my M32R.

Am I looking in the wrong place?  What happened?

Tom

It's there.

I can't post the official link when I get back home if somebody else doesn't.

Here you go: https://www.behringer.com/Categories/Behringer/Mixers/Digital/X32/p/P0ASF/Downloads#googtrans(en|en)

Almost at the bottom.
You can filter on firmware.

There seems to be a price paid for reverting to 3.11 from 4.0.

I don't like icons in the scribble strips because it seems to make the script smaller.

My 3.11 on this M32R now has mandatory icons.

Here is the setup page showing no icon selected:

Here is the scribble strip with "no icon"

It took a second to figure out what that icon is; here is selecting the next icon down, B(ass) D(rum)

and the scribble strip

Channel 1 has the kick drum mic'd on the right side; the others have it mic'd in the center.

Hmmm.

Reloading 3.11 (note that this is on a separate USB stick from 4.0) and separately initializing the console have no effect on getting rid of the icons.

I'm not sure, but I think all the stuff under the 3.11 label might be new, too, but I've not broken out another console to check.

I guess icons will be mandatory in 4.0? Anybody noticed this?

Maybe it's only for recidivists going back to older firmware? This console will apparently remain cursed, at least until the fader speed picks up in 4.0.

Make sure that you didn’t accidentally engage the filter for the download page.

Regarding the change from fast faders on some m32’s to slow faders. Fast faders was on the original faderboard version used on the old M32.

Its not a bug, its a feature to make them last longer and not sound as much in critical environments like theaters. I’ll try and see if this could be a configurable feature in the future.

The V1 option is for those who have black buttons, not the rubber ones. Most of those mixers have the original faderboards that got changed later on. This v1 option fixes issues when updating scribble strip when loading scenes, just like 3.12 fixed 3.11.

Regarding the new icons when downgrading. See if reverting to v3.07 first helps.

Still shows up for me, I wager their site is having a spot of trouble with all the people clamoring for the release:

I’m sure that they will provide a beer holder!
I could imagine a beer blocker being the next big thing, not a beer holder

Note to myself: dont tell joke about american beer and making love in a canoe

My guess V4.11 will get rid of the icons.  I personally don't use icons for my main channels, just band names and instruments titles in all caps.  More room with no icons!

I also see no point in the icons - to me they add nothing helpful, waste time when looking for the "right one", and most importantly make the text smaller.

However, I see loads using them, and they're "cool" - I'd be very surprised ever to see them go.  Having them optional is the perfect compromise.
