Lab Gruppen FP6000Q Service docs
« on: June 10, 2019, 10:21:54 PM »

I seem to have run into a dead end and the Lab forum is my last possibility.

Due to an unfortunate miswiring incident on a L14-30 on a distro, I turned on the mains switch on our LG FP6000Q amp and immediately white smoke came billowing out right after a loud pop.  Upon inspection, I found the life juices of the input filters all over the inside of the case and the same filter caps with their tops blown out.  There is also a resistor on the power input panel which looks to have gotten quite hot, as the circuit board is de laminating right below it.

My question to the forum is...would anyone out there have the service prints for this amp?  I've done pro audio repair for close to 30 years prior to owning the sound company, but I've never had the opportunity or need to work on one of these fine units.

The input power board is marked as a 'MIS13003a-F52'.  The power supply board (which only seemed to lose the (4) 2200uF@200VDC caps) is marked as a 'SP140F01b-F03'.

I am perfectly willing to pay for any shipping, handling, reproduction charges, and would certainly add in a gift card good for multiple libations at one's favorite 'libation station'.  No, I'm not crazy, just a bit desperate!

Any help would be greatly and grandly appreciated!

You can try emailing [email protected]

Someone over at Clair probably has a contact for getting hold of this stuff, since they have a huge commit with Lab Gruppen

I used to have the direct email of someone at LG in Sweden, but I can't seem to locate it. Their Sweden service center is:

Email: [email protected]

The 6000q is pre-music group so I'd expect that MG support won't be much help.

No idea how close the design is but the FP6400 schematic has been floating around the web for years

Riley, thanks for the link.  I had found the prints for the 6400, but never found the service manual and that explains a lot about how they work...and work and work...when you don't blow them up by improper feeding!

I appreciate your reply and the link and may all your shows be rain free and be just breezy enough to keep you cool!!

Thank you again!
