Xlive Recording Help
« on: August 01, 2019, 05:37:12 PM »

I can get the Xlive to record on the local inputs of the console. Routing is as follows:
Record: Local 1-32
Play: Card 1-32

Everything works as it should and I can get the playback into the main output.

Now the fun starts when I plug in the AES50 digital snake and routing is as follows:
Record: 1-32 AES50A “that’s where the snake is plugged into “
Play: Card 1-32

Not able to playback and get anything from the mains.

Thanks for any assistance!

Not on the "Input tab" in routing but the "Card tab" in Routing did you select AES50 as output as well?  I haven't looked in ages but I think you need to as your board is setup to receive AES50 on its inputs not local.

That seemed to have fixed the issue. All recordings prior from AES50 are on the SD card but will not play back?  The good thing is the test I just ran played back my test mic. The card output selection seems to be the solution.

Thanks!

Where you set the Card out is directly related to where you have the "Input Tab" set. Local or AES50.  As you had the inputs , 1-32 , set to AES50 you needed to set the card "Outs" to AES50. If your inputs are set to " Local 1-32 " your card "Outs" need to be set to "Local 1-32" .   Once recorded your Card Out only needs to be set to match your currently selected Local or AES50 inputs.
