Hi Art,
Do you have a recommendation for an efficient power amp to run a Danley SM80?

Not any in particular, but the most efficient power amps are class D with around 90% power efficiency, though some class D fail at that, check the power consumption specifications.

Powersoft X-series is around 94% IIRC.

I've powered a X8 with 16A/230V single phase several times running surprisingly large speaker systems without issues.

Powersoft T604 or T302 (4ch or 2ch).  Among others; these happen to be 1RU with DSP.  Under normal, non-abusive use, if I read the spec sheet correctly - powering a pair of SM80's will draw around 1A at 120V.

If you want to stay with QSC, the PL380 is Class D and efficient.

How does the Crest Pro-Lite series compare in regard to efficiency.
Is there any difference between the Crest and their Peavey cousins?

Both the same and equally useless.  I switched from ipr7500's to Lab.gruppen 6400's and the difference was day and night.  The Peavey's were insanely anemic.

Disappointed to hear that. Crest used to be a nice amp.
How do the Lab Gruppens compare with their Behringer cousins?

Labs are real power amps.  Next question?

No cross-pollination between the two brands?
Has LG moved their manufacturing since being acquired by the tribe?

Downward transfer?  I'm sure it's happening, but if it's like the "Midas" preamps in the X32 it will be more for marketing than performance.

I don't think Lab Gruppen sells enough units to justify moving production to Behringer City.  I've been wrong before but not seen any signs they've moved.  The folks at Clair Global probably know...
