I suggest you get an integrated network port. Using USBc for the network will be competing with other things you have connected to USBc. Might even be competing with the video on some systems.
You want separate busses to memory for things like disk, video and networking if you can.

I understand that many laptops no longer come with built in network ports but they are out there.

For dante I always use dedicated USB-3 ports, current comp has 2x of them, and one usb-c and one usb 2, so i use the usb-c to plug in streamdeck/midi interface and such while running network on dedicated usb-3 ports.
