20mm windscreens
« on: June 25, 2019, 10:44:10 am »

Hi Folks,

I have some 20mm diameter pencil condensers that are missing their windscreens.
Many of these windscreens appear to have a very light hold on the mic and
probably work well in the studio.

Do you know a brand/model that stays on nicely when used live, overhead?

Thanks and good health,  Weogo

WindTech has been pretty good for me on a lot of aftermarket solutions:

You can put a rubber band under the windscreen to give it some traction.

Hi Rick,

In the past I've had pretty good service from Windtech windscreens.
Will likely try their 1200 series.

Dave,
I have done the rubber band trick many times.
Have also put a small bit of self-adhesive Velcro 'hook' on a mic where
it would grab the windscreen.
Prefer a little more elegant solution.
