RFI solutions for LED controller issues?
« on: June 19, 2019, 10:13:45 AM »

Arg!  I just spent 30 mins crafting a post.  I attached a pdf (oops) and got the "you can't do that" message when I hit POST.  I "back"ed to fix it and poof.... gone.

RGB LED controller jumping out of a canned selection to another IF I change the speed setting, but only after the sequences has already looped many many times.  Specifically from #13 (7-color smooth fade) to #18 (multi effect scroll) Manufacture said RFI likely (or faulty unit).
Online RFI causes.... multiple ground paths, or choke needed.

120vac - 24vdc PS to controller.
New 120v run from panel in metal conduit.  Screwed to support column of 40ft span outdoor gantry.  Gantry has large (larrrrge) braided ground rope running underground.
PS & controller are mounted in a metal enclosure.  Incoming 120v and PS are grounded to the enclosure ground lug.  The enclosure screwed to the gantry also, but paint is probably preventing metal contact.  PS chassis is bonded to enclosure metal.  Controller, probably not (paint).
Gantry grounded.
Conduit grounded to gantry.
Conduit could be, but probably not grounded to enclosure.
Enclosure could be, but probably not grounded to gantry.
PS and 120v grounded to enclosure.
No info if the conduit is grounded in the electrical room panel.

Do I have multiple ground paths?  Can it be remedied?

What choke advise can anyone offer?

Any other suggestions?

Please ask if more info is needed.
