DB reduction cable or adapter?
« Reply #10 on: May 22, 2019, 07:40:36 AM »

Based on the OP's diagram ( and assuming it's an accurate representation) I don't see the need to delay these side fills. People on the sides are closer to the speakers but not really that much closer to the fills than the mains. Unless reality is different from pic. Unlike front fills, don't most of us place our side fills right beside our mains?

Anyone who can hear both , for all practical purposes, will be equal distant from both, within a foot or two. No one is going to hear that.

Could you run two speakers in series?

If you run on the same channel you can't properly delay the fills.

10ms in an off axis zone?  Seems unneccessary.

??? If the mains and fills are right next to each other yes, One up high where it belongs and one at stage level right next to the audience, No.

My front fills often have 15-20ms of delay relative to the mains.

I hadn't considered the difference in elevation.  In my case, about 5 ft. lower on side fills.

If your amps can output both its L and R channels on a single NL4 you could use seperate channels for mains and fills.

^^this, or some variation thereof.

Simply cabling this [by whatever method is most convenient to you] so that the "outfills" are on one amp channel and the "mains" are on the other will be much simpler than virtually any other solution.  Yes you give up "stereo" but IMHO that's giving up exactly nothing in this scenario.  Meanwhile, gaining actual CONTROL of the balance [and delay if needed] between your outfills and mains is worth it [times a hundred]...

If one channel of the current amp will handle both sides of the house, do that and use the 2nd channel for the fills.  If not, buy another amp.  It won't cost any more than the other ways that have been discussed, and it won't take a lot of weird fiddling about.
