I posted a thread a while back in the Church/HoW subforum but didn't gain much traction, trying here...
Anyone have experience with the Yamaha MTX processors?

Local contractor in my area says BSS soundweb London is having production issues, support has been going under apparently and is an old platform (which I'll give them that). They're pushing for Yamaha MTX saying they're reliable, but I've never heard of this until recently.

Qsys is really the new hotness these days.   I used to spec and install nothing but BSS, but made the decision to change to Qsys after being bit (hard) by the production delays and the general lack of platform advancement.   Qsys can really do it all, but has a higher cost of entry for sure.

I would have to agree.  With the momentum surrounding the Q-sys platform right now I wouldn't recommend anything else.
If you are needing simple console->dsp->PA type systems of a standalone nature then there are many lower cost and reliable solutions -which I'm sure Yamaha is one. (and QSC has cost effective product for this level too)

However for campus-wide management of any and all audio needs along with excellent control options and integration with the video and telecom side of things it seems Q-Sys definitely is the currently desired product.

And with Samsung now the ultimate owner of BSS who really can guess how long it will take to get a solid new platform from them with long term support?
