Shure ULXD Frequency Range Limitation
« on: April 29, 2019, 05:51:35 pm »

I ran across an L50 receiver unit that had somehow locked down the tunable frequency range, ala the old ULXP units. I couldn't tune it below 653.125 or above 662.875.
Is there a frequency range limit function on these units like the ULXP? If so, how do I access it to open things back up? I tried the factory reset & no go.

That is the duplex gap in the 600MHz band. It is all that is legally available. My guess is that those are new, or updated mics to comply with the new frequency allocation post 600MHz auction. You may need a License to operate in the duplex gap, I don't remember.

If it was updated with the 600MHz "conversion tool" then (according to Shure) it is permanently limited to that frequency range.

Only 652-657 requires a Part 74 license; 657-663 is for unlicensed Part 15 operations.
