XLR to 3-pin Lemo pin-out-SK5212-6000?
« on: April 17, 2019, 12:59:59 PM »

Hi All,
Does anyone have the Pin-out to connect a plain-old SM-58 to the Lemo socket on a Sennheiser SK6000 pack?
Thanks!

The standard Sennheiser 3-pin Lemo puts ground on pin 1 and audio plus bias on pin 3.

So yeah, there will be DC voltage on an unbalanced input.  You'll want to fit a blocking cap into the XLR.

You need to make sure the sk 6000 has a recent firmware, where you can force it to use the mic pin and not the Line.

A friend who runs a film sound rental house got back to me with this, which worked perfectly:
"XLR pins 1 and 3 to Lemo pins 1 and 2,
XLR pin 2 through 10uf/10V cap to Lemo pin 3. Positive of cap to Lemo end."
Thanks for the replies! :)

I'm pretty much a hoarder when it comes to pinouts.  *Especially* for ones I might never use again.

Further to this. This stopped working after a bit, and in spite of numerous attempts, I was unable to determine why (didn't have any more time to throw at it). I suspect that it has to do with the cap, but can't be sure. So, YMMV.
