Recommendation for getting sound into an iphone X?
« on: April 17, 2019, 05:52:18 PM »

Can anyone recommend a cable/interface that can get audio (line level from a console) INTO an iphone XR (lightning only - no 1/8" jack)? It needs to work for the phone app. I tried the Shure MVi, and it works with Garageband and with Shure's app, but not when using the phone.
Thanks in advance,
Tim

There are several from Apogee digital. They are most tightly integrated with Apple products.

iRig is popular, as well.

FWIW, I carry an iRig to pretty much every gig. It's a convenient line out from the desk for throw-and-go recording on to phones - some acts like to be able to review their performances that way.

It gives you a mono line in. Combine with a lightning to 1/8" jack adapter, and the input will show as the headset input. That ought to work for any app you can think of.
