Complete JBL STX PA with Crown Amps Settings Help
« on: January 18, 2015, 01:22:02 PM »

Does anybody have any experience with this combination of amps and speakers listed below? Everything is brand new except for the I-Tech 8000 with 600 hours. I am hoping to find the correct information for settings and crossovers inside the crown amps to match these speakers. The I-Tech 8000 is to be run in stereo to supply 4,000 watts from each channel to each JBL STX828S Subs. Each Crown XTi2 4002 is to be run in Bridge-Mono to supply 3,200 watts to each JBL STX835 three way mains. The Crown XTi2 6002 is to be run in stereo to supply 1,200 watts from each channel to each JBL STX815M floor monitors until another two are added later changing  8-ohms 1,200 watts to 4-ohms 2,100 watts. Videos are on the crown website for the “I-Tech HD” but nothing for the non “HD” I-Tech or XTi2 amps.

I’m hoping to just dial in the correct settings on the amps. I did hear the two JBL STX815M using a Peavey CS800X Stereo Dual (per ch.) 8-ohms 260 watts which was amazing. For now everything just looks pretty taking up space in the room but would really love to hear how it sounds when it is set up correctly. Any links or help would be much appreciated.  Thank you in advance. Yves Lopez

 Two, JBL STX828S: 4-ohms Program/ Peak = 4,000 W / 8,000 W
One, Crown I-Tech8000 4-ohms Stereo Dual (per ch.) 4,000W [one channel for each STX828S]

Two, JBL STX835: 4-ohms Program/ Peak = 3,200 W / 6,400 W
Two, Crown XTi2 4002 Bridge-Mono, 4-ohms  3,200W [one for each STX835]

Two, JBL STX815M: 8-ohms Program/ Peak =  1,600 W / 3,200 W
One, Crown XTi2 6002 8-ohms Stereo Dual (per ch.) 1,200 W [one channel for each STX815M]*

*Later will be adding Two more JBL STX815M, connected to the Crown XTi2 6002 changing  8-ohms 1,200 W to 4-ohms 2,100 W

I use a XTI6002 amp for running SRX715's and I think they sound fantastic so powering your STX815's with a XTI6002 as floor monitors should sound really good. It is a great match to those speakers.

I believe there are direct settings to input into crown XTI and I-Tech series amps for those speakers. Double check with crown amps and your specific model. If it's not XTI or I-Tech obviously your not going to as easily find the settings. JBL should have them listed somewhere.

There are no device/preset files for the STX800 series on the original ITechs.

Purchased a DBX DriveRack PA2 and it was perfect to set it all up. It had everything needed already preloaded. Simply went into the menu and selected the speakers and amps that were being used. Connecting it to a wireless router made it so easy and a perfect match while using the wireless software for the unit.

How are the 835 with the 3200 watts amplification? I have 2 stx825 which have the same wattage and i run them with 2 xti2002 Bridge-Mono with 2000 watts each. I think to upgrade to 2 4002 bridged.
