JBL STX825 how many SRX81SP
« on: March 14, 2019, 05:14:37 AM »

Hello to everyone
I own 2 jbl stx825 amplified with 1 crown xti6002, i recently owned 2 srx818sp.
The bass from the subs is very little in comparison the bass from the stx. How many srx818sp i must have to have correct system audio output? To feel the bass from the srx818sp's

The Srx818’s can and do get plenty loud. How are they set up and using them ? Music playback? Band? How large is the venue or room? The more information you can provide in detail, the better we can answer your questions.

I am a wedding dj, the venus are about 500-600 people, inside and outside. I was ok with the stx825 without subs but i wanted more bass, i picked 2 srx818, one with one stx825 per side but the bass remain the same. I suppose because the stx825 have plenty of bass. With 2 srx818sp per side i will hear a difference or i want 3 per side?

You are asking a lot of the SRX818's if you only have one per side for each STX825 especially if you are pushing those STX825's.
2 subs per top would be a better ratio  for you to really benefit from the addition of subs to your system and 'feel' the bass as you say - even 3 or 4 subs per top depending on just how much low end you want.
This is a standard rule of thumb and does not just apply to the SRX/STX series.
Also consider the SRX828sp which is an amazing 2x18" sub that for the money cannot be beat. I own 2 x SRX818sp and 1 x SRX828sp and I love the scalability of the system.

^^^This right here.

If you're looking for a balanced sound, you'll need to REDUCE the volume of the 825's and bring the 818's way up.  Apply a HPF @ 80-90Hz to the tops to smooth the transition to the sub.  That will sound much better but will not get you the chest thumping base you're expecting.

Most importantly, heed Debbie's point.  You need 2x818's to 1 Top or at least 1 828 per side MINIMUM, particular for 500 ppl outdoors.

Very fair enough, both of you. Thanks yor your answers.
I may go to 1 srx828sp on one side and the 2 srx818sp which i have them already. I work on my own and i dont know how difficult to cary them.
Another question, i am thinking about why the srx 812p and srx815p have 2000 crown amp and the srx818sp have only 1000 crown amplification
