I don’t use Reaper. But even I paid the $60 to have a fully licensed copy of it. (also, it’s $225 for the license if you do more than $20,000 of business).

I still use Protools for all my live recording needs. I hate having to manually import audio files and line them up in post. Plus I was never able to figure out how to get the files to name properly in Reaper. And then you lose the comments, and track markers, etc...

I have, on occasion, taken similar jobs just multi-tracking events.
