I feel like I should cut my hair now. At least I don't wear a ball cap.

This is always funny, when  he says "I maxed out want me to blow the board?" I saw some guys from a nameless local shop down south do this to a band us older folks have heard of.

The boss had come by and set gain structure on the board.  The were turning the stage for the next band (same backline) and once the fader hit the stop they were "we are maxed out on gain structure, that's all I have" and the musician seemed to accept this.  The fact the input was so low the compressor was sucking up the noise floor doesn't really matter, "we'll fix it in the mix".  Oh brother.

One "club" i did in the mid 80's "enforced" volume limits by taking the knobs off the gain pots, and putting sharpie on the word Gain.
On a 200SR, not like anyone knew where the gain pots were.......

Ya, Whatever. Just throw a '57 on it, and get off my stage.

Now, THAT'S funny.

I've seen master faders with mechanical restraints on them but not a Gain lock feature....

Not really so much a gain lock though, more like attempting to hide gain in plain sight!

I've seen the same restraint as seen in "Bohemian Rhapsody": a piece of duct tape across the half-way point on the Main faders with "NO!" written on it. Obviously the club owners thought that was the only place you could turn things up on a board.
