Wall plate volume knob for balanced lines

Wall plate volume knob for balanced lines.

I'm thinking I'll make my own:

Parts Express 10K Audio Taper Stereo Potentiometer 1/4" Shaft
Penn-Elcom Z408601 Basic Amplifier Knob Black - Unpainted Indicator Line

Am I missing anything?

The plate to mount it to?  :)

Please post back about how it works out.  I’m curious to know how well matched the two sides are.  A level mismatch or other noise induced on just one line could have negative effects on the signal.  Maybe run it through a transfer function measurement to see if it’s just attenuation on the wire or if other artifacts appear.

For $128.00 you save yourself a lot of trouble.

What kind of level are you wanting to control, mic or line?

What will the input and output devices be that the volume control is controlling?

Line.

I don't think it matters, but for fulness sake.
Source > HDMI > Projector [DA conversion] > rolls DB226 > pot > mixer > amp > speaker

It worked perfectly and cost less than 5$ total.

I found the perfect website that demonstrates how to use Pot's but I can't find it again. I'm rather annoyed.
It was for guitars, volume pots, explained each circuit and how to build tone controls, balanced or unbalanced, etc. Gah. I've searched for an hour and still cant find it.
