According to our news services in sweden only the singer seems to have survived. Two band members are still missing and their manager died as well.

Here it is on LiveLeak.  Very scary and goes to show how fast and how dangerous a tsunami is.

I'm so old, when I was doing FOH for Tommy Dorsey, to balance out the horn section I would slide their chairs downstage and upstage to mix!

This footage takes my breath away - Too sad for words. I can't even get my head around this. My thoughts and prayers are with all affected.

Consider it was probably a loud show, back to the ocean, night time, and no civil warning given.  Pretty impossible to prepare.  It's amazing anyone on that stage survived.

Tsunamis are scary stuff.  There's very little you can do to prepare for them other than stay far away from the ocean.  Luckily, the odds of getting hit by one are pretty small. Still crazy to see it hitting a live stage though.

For sure.  I lived on the Oregon coast for a while, and we had an earthquake, felt everything shake.  One of the other guys and myself looked at each other, thought long and hard for, oh, 2 seconds - and took off running for high ground.  Exactly as trained.  Shaking earth or tsunami siren = drop everything and run.

As I understand it (and I could be wrong), this was due not to an earthquake, but a landslide triggered by an eruption on Anak Krakatau in the Sunda Strait. There was no earthquake to warn people, and civil authorities probably had no way of even knowing the landslide happened until well after the fact. Even if they had known, there might not have been time to sound an alarm. And it appears that this was more than just a "landslide" -- it was a full-fledged collapse of the volcano.

Like the biggest fat guy you ever saw doing the "cannonball" in a kiddie pool.
