Unique?

luis Markson:
Is this approach unique to AT? Has anyone heard these?

Doug Johnson:
FBT has been making a similar product for several years ( the Modus series) and another company, I think it was DAS, used to make one as well.

Reminded me a bit of http://www.worxaudio.com/product_desc_true.php?id=69 and http://www.worxaudio.com/product_desc_true.php?id=70.

I'd be real interested to balloons, polars or at least a beamwidth chart for the AT CLA 1000 versus frequency as at less than 3' high one has to wonder how well the quoted 10 degree vertical pattern is held other than at higher frequencies.  It's also interesting that the program power rating is 3.6667 times the continuous power rating, which is considerably more than the normal two times the continuous rating but quite not the true 6dB or four times factor expected for peak power values.
