old JBL & Soundweb tunings
« on: December 03, 2018, 12:15:51 PM »

I've been tasked with putting a pair of JBL AM6315/64 speakers into service on a BSS Soundweb 9088. I know that JBL released tunings for that pairing, because I've found a relevant readme, but I can't find the tunings themselves anywhere. Does one of you fine audio techs have them archived?

I've got it but the forum won't let me attach it. PM me with your email and I'll send it to you. -F

Oops, sorry. It's just the "Application Data Sheet". No tunings. Just a dead link. -F

Call JBL and ask for engineering support.  Emails get ignored or take days to receive answers.

Thanks, gentlemen. Load-in is tomorrow, guess I'll roll my own. Still like to find more resources, though, so I'll call Mr. Lansing when I get a chance.

I did some searching and ran into dead links.  The info may be out there, somewhere, but finding it seems the challenge.

If you're asking James Bullough, get out your Ouija board...

Yeah, likewise. I have a lot of that sort of stuff archived. Still hoping someone else has this. Harman threw a lot of good information away.

I would also be carrying a back up to your Soundweb.

The Soundweb is the backup for the RPM88 that is failing. Just trying to nurse this system along until the school's funding proposal for all new goes through.

Sometimes, the patient just dies, and you have to move on.

Those speakers themselves are not that bad, provided they are working good and appropriate for the room.

Lots of good DSP choices these days, I would say the DBX360 would work well and do what those speakers need.

Or just change/recap the power supply and go for another 15 years.

The caps were the weak link in those, even recapped I would still have something to back up a system processor.
