I wonder how close we are to developing a mixer that makes a really bad band sound fantastic....???

I think all you would really need is an inversion algorithm for the suck knob.

Could have used that last week. But I had a band here last Saturday that made my board sound fantastic.

Sometimes I just love my job.

Ya know, I donít recall owning a mixer (analog or digital) that sounded bad. Mixes? Bands? Speakers? Rooms? Yes.

Ain't THAT the truth..........

Nothing elaborate or expensive. I have been using a Cyberpower 1000PFCLCD for years eversince I went digital (mixer). I have 2 and use one for my home desktop Mac. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.
I place it next to my mixer on stage and it gets used as a multi power source too -  I use the non-battery outlets for things like my router, charging iPod etc.
The warehouses like Costco and Sams often have similar and are very affordable.
UPS

It has 'kicked in' a couple of times over the years and allowed me to power down properly with no risk of spikes to the mixer.

Thank you  :)

Well, the 01v96 sounded fine back when I used it. Heck, no one complains about my LS9 sound either.

I remember reading an article in Mix Magazine back in the 90ís about one of the then current Yamaha digital mixers. Someone had remixed a Steely Dan album on the Yamaha and said as hard a he tried he couldnít get it to sound the same, it always sounded better using the Yamaha.
