Its bad forum etiquette to post again while you have an identical thread locked.

If you are a wedding DJ, you have to take some song requests.

In a more club-like environment, you have to be able to throw away most of the requests, or at least read the portion of the crowd that is requesting a song.

The people with the most time to lurk and request songs are the people who aren't dancing.  Their requests will be 100% guaranteed buzzkills.

As a DJ you need to "build a vibe and take it for a ride".  You are not a jukebox.

I'v been using the perfect song request app for over 2 decades.  2"x4-1/4" scrap paper and a pen......totally analog and works every night

Looking at retiring. Local PA market has shrank to 2 guys with guitars and bose l1 compacts or expecting full line array and 16 movers on stage for $300... no middle left going back to event DJ stuff, half the work for twice the pay.
