Hi Guys,

I am looking for a durable yet cheaper flat-screen TV case, preferably something with casters. Currently only finding road cases for $600+ for 65" monitors. Would prefer not to shell out that much but I recognize they're very fragile and need adequate protection.

Any suggestions? Always open to DIY recommendations!

They used to have a cheaper model that we got. It didn't have all the aluminum angle. Served us just fine for a number of years now.

Sometimes one has to accept that the means to transpurt something safely are initially more expensive than whats being transported. But than again, if you don't do it right, it ends up being penny wise, pound foolish.

Not very professional looking but usually the box it came in is the second best option when a real case is out of budget. Label all the little foam pieces before you take it apart.

No, the box it came in doesn't offer that much protection.  Cardboard is easily punctured and flexing of the box can cause major issues.  They are only designed for a single trip from the factory to the destination, riding alongside similar boxes on a pallet.

With the cost of TVs today, a road case may very well cost more than the TV itself.  If budget is a concern, you can hammer one together on your own with some plywood and a coat of paint.  Cost to build your own could be done for under $100 or so if you forego the fancy aluminum edges.

Maybe consider a twin-pack case; get a matching 65” and take ‘em both! The shipping weight won’t change that much, and the case will probably be the same size as s single.

That was the solution I thought of when considering the purchase of some large screens recently.  Tall, thin cases don't work on wheels very well anyway.


Using the original boxes is called "Road cases by Cardsdale". (Canadians will get that reference  )

Not sure if you made a purchase yet, but I ended up purchasing the Odyssey 65" Dual Adjustable Cases.  They are obviously large cases, but I believe they were around $600 Per, Shipped.

How about a used analogue console case? I bet you could find a big one pretty cheap

Genius. Most case builders will even reform their cases to suit your needs.
