I am super burnt about finding a new phone.

All the new phones have left off the headphone jack.

What I want is a Droid Turbo 3.
Turbo 2, plus normal improvements [nearly indestructible + fingerprint + newer processor/ram] that's it. simple. why doesn't that exit!?

Dear god, bless your soul. I've searched high and low for the past 3 days after reflashing my rom trying to fix my K20 (long story...LTE went out, mobo solder joint I think; happened during the oct sept update, thought it was software related...).

I don't know how I missed it, but I think it's perfect ima get me a used/mint one tonight

I have a samsung galaxy s9, their newest model, which still has the headphone socket.

Have had most of the range since the s2 and love them.

I still have my LG G2 but it needs to be replaced at some point.  Likely with a Galaxy S9 or Note 9.  My wife still has a Note 5, it's been - quirky.  The LG G7 I've read has a few issues, hence S9 or Note 9 as the current front runners.

The IR transmitter on my G2 has come in very handy countless times between all the old TV's with lost remotes.

My wife tried an iPhone for 2 years - too basic and inflexible.

How about a Motorola DynaTAC 8000X?

I knew a guy who worked for an advertising agency and was still using one of those into the late 90's.
I'm sure he used it up until day they shut down the analog cell service.

A friend of mine had a bag phone in his car.  Turned it off when the local cellular carrier called and said - we shut service down tomorrow.  You’re the last one.

How about a Motorola DynaTAC 8000X?

Friend of mine had one. One day, it fell out of his dump truck and the cord caught in the door. Dangled by the cord for several miles. Got a little scratched up but still worked fine.

Two problems with phone jacks besides the space they take up in the phone:

The switching contacts to disable the internal speaker become problematic over time.

You can't seal the phone from moisture/water intrusion.  Most new phones are working on various levels of waterproofing since that seems to be their greatest mortality.
