Clearcom Freespeak SFP
« on: October 22, 2018, 12:16:59 PM »

Does anyone know what spec SFP are required for the Freespeak II Base and Antenna Splitter connections? Are they standard Gigabit Ethernet transceivers even though it isn't IP to the antennas?

Yes.

Great. I’ve got some nice BiDirectional single strand Gigabit SFP on the shelf so will give them a shot.

So sorry to resurrect an old thread but just wanted to confirm what specific sfp's people have been able to get to work ... any gig sfp seems a bit broad ... I have a bunch of hp procurve managed switches with sfp's but also access to tp link and a few Cisco ones anyway I can do some trial and error but basically I'd just be curious about everyone's experiences ... ideally it's a wdm bidi sfp so 1 strand is all that's used

with freespeak any gigabit is fine. I use bidirectional from many manu with no issues.  The needed BW is very low.

I'm in my first show with a FSII splitter. During setup I tried to use the SFPs from our Luminex and Cisco switches without success. We ended up using copper to the splitter. I'll give it another go during strike tomorrow, but I'm curious why it didn't work. I used a standard duplex LC-LC cable.
