MR18 vs. XR18?
« on: October 16, 2018, 02:37:22 PM »

I have an XR18 that I use for some events where I don't need to cart in my x32 producer and other full consoles and curious to know if there is any real noticeable difference between the XR18 and MR18?

My guess would be the mic preamps and badging, just like the M32 and X32.

Slightly less preamp noise on the mr18 if you crank the preamp gain. There is also a tiny bit more hi-end in a neutral setting.

The outputs are +21dBu instead of the xr18 +16dBu.

The mr18 lacks the hi-z inputs.

Thank you, Robert!

I thought the outputs were a little soft, although fine in most situations. That explains it! (Obviously I couldn't be arsed to look it up.)

Product distinction in this day and age of look-alike family members make for a lot of reading and sorting through much marketing-speak.  Many thanks for that clarification.

Ended up going with the Midas M18. I personally also prefer the layout of the M air app over the Behringer app as well. Seems to be a bit more fluid and user friendly with more layout options.

Thanks for your assistance.
